May 8, 2021. On my first trip this morning I had two IT guys on their day off from programming and looking for a relaxed day of fishing. Once I got on my new hot spot, they started hauling in Hybrids non-stop. They caught 40 Hybrids in four hours. There went their relaxed day of fishing. Jordan Messer wanted more and booked a second trip in the afternoon and asked if I knew someone that would to go with us. I called Mara Nichole, The Sassy Angler, and she joined us with her 9 year old stepson Aiden. Today was Aiden's first time on a boat and first time fishing, I mean catching. In three hours we caught 60+ Hybrids. The Sassy Angler now has a fishing partner. Children 12 and under always fish free with The Reel Deal Guide Service.
May 7, 2021. My two clients this morning drove their RV to Nashville from their home in Florida just to fish for Hybrids on Percy Priest. They parked their RV in the Elm Hill RV Resort so they could get an early start. At 6:00 AM I picked them up at the ELM Hill Boat Ramp and in 15 minutes had them catching Hybrids and White Bass. After catching 35 Hybrids in the 2 to 3 lb range, they wanted to catch some bigger fish. I made a move to a spot I haven't fished in years and found the big ones. The one on the left above weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and the one on the right 5 lbs 2 oz. One of my client said "This damn lake is full of fish." Check my Pro Fishing Reports for the details of my new big Hybrid spot.
May 7, 2021. Eleven Fishing Guides from Day One Outdoors in Portland, Oregon, decided to have a Bachelor Party for one of their guides in Nashville, Tennessee. Instead of partying on Honky Tonk Highway, downtown Nashville, they booked a fishing trip on Percy Priest with The Reel Deal Guide Service. Me, TRDGS Pro Guide Danny Crockett, and TRDGS Pro Guide David Webber had our hands full with this rowdy bunch. These guys were yanking fish out of Priest so fast we could hardly keep up with them. They could not believe all the species of fish we have in our lake. One guide was trying to catch one of each species using a Bink's Pro Series Spoon. He almost did it. Check out the Photos Gallery for tons of photos of the fish this bunch caught.
May 6, 2021. TRDGS Pro Guide Danny Crockett put in at Hurricane Creek at 7:00 AM this morning on and 8 hour Crappie trip. He fished from Brtant's Grove to Seven Points using jigs in various colors. His clients caught around 50 Crappie with 20 keepers. Seven of the Crappie were over a pound and the largest was 1 pound 14 ounces. Danny was fortunate to fish with the legendary Professional Crappie Guide Harold Morgan. He was able to learn a lot about Crappie fishing from him over the years and knows how to put you on the big Slabs. If you are into catching a mess of big Crappie, book a trip with Danny Crockett.
May 5, 2021. Fished the WASCO/
Lovell's Bass Tournament this morning out of Long Hunter State Park and caught 25 Bass. I thought I had hooked the lake record only to find out I had hooked a 10 pound Flathead. Should have kept the catfish, would have won the trash fish prize. My client and I finished 6th with 9 pounds and 2 ounces. Tournament winner had 15 pounds 7 ounces. On my afternoon trip, moved north of the Hobson Pike Bridge were there was clear water. My two clients caught 25 Hybrids each. Most of the 50 Hybrids caught were all around 3 pounds. Have two trips tomorrow and TRDGS Pro Guide Danny Crockett has an 8-hour trip. See my Pro Fishing Reports to see what we used to catch the Bass and Hybrids. Book your trip now while the big Hybrid bite is on.
May 2, 2021. I changed my fishing pattern and my bait on my two trips today. The Hybrids were hitting my client's bait with such a force, they doubled over their poles and screamed line off their reels. My morning clients caught 20+ Hybrids. My afternoon clients did a lot better catching 52 Hybrids in 3 hours, almost non-stop. All were in 4-5 pound range and only 4 were small. The Hybrids are hungry and very aggressive. If you are looking for some heart-stopping, breath-taking fishing action, now is the time to get out on Priest. See my Pro Fishing Reports for the locations I fished and the bait I used. If you are not a Pro Fishing Reports subscriber, Book a trip and I will put you on them and I will Get The Net!.
April 30, 2021. My client on my morning trip, Brad Odem's father bought this trip for his birthday. Just like my client yesterday, both were celebrating their 32nd birthday on a father bought fishing trip. Cool. Brad's fishing partner was his wife Karis. We didn't have any top water action this morning like we had yesterday, so I spot locked the boat, turned on the Thumper and soon spotted hoards of Hybrids and White Bass under the boat. I tied on Bink's Pro Series Spoons and they went to catching them. Karis used the Livescope to target the fish and ended up smoking her husband by catching 30+ fish. The birthday boy fished off the back of the boat and only caught 20. The wind picked up on my afternoon trip but my clients on that trip caught approximately 20 Hybrids and Whites.
April 29, 2021. My client today, Robert Stieber's father bought this trip for him for his birthday. His father picked a perfect day for his son's fishing trip. As soon as we arrived at our first fishing spot, the water all around the boat began erupting with fish chasing shad to the surface. The fish were hitting Robert's and his friend's top water lures on every cast, In between top water eruptions, they threw crank baits and caught fish. It was pure insanity! They ended up catching 33 fish: 9 Largemouth, 15 White Bass, and 9 Hybrids. Two of the Hybrids weighed 4 pounds. During one of the top water frenzies, I went live on TRDGS Live Pro Reports Facebook Group page. That video is saved on the Group page. See where we fished and what we used to catch these fish on my Pro Fishing Reports.
April 28, 2021. Put out of Fate Sanders Marina this afternoon with Mara Nichole (The Sassy Angler) of Blinged Out Shoes. This was her second trip with me this week. We caught 3 nice Smallmouth on crank baits and a mess of White Bass and 2 4-pound Hybrids. before the downpour, made a move and, after the rain storm, started seeing fish breaking topwater. I then tied on top water poppers and on Mara's first cast ever with a top water bait hooked a Largemouth that gave her a great fight then broke her line. She is now hooked on top water fishing. We caught a total of 8 Largemouth. To see the details of which crank baits and top water baits we used, see my Pro Fishing Reports. Stay tuned, I have another trip tomorrow.
April 25, 2021. Had four La Vergne High School buddies (Class of 95) on my morning trip. We headed out to the same spot I fished yesterday and within an hour was surrounded by at least 15 boats, mostly my Pro Fishing Reports subscribers. My clients caught an 8 pound Hybrid trolling mid lake. Once I spot locked and started the Thumper, we went to jigging Bink's Pro Series Spoons, they landed over 60 fish (Hybrids, White Bass, Yellow Bass, 1 big Crappie, and 2 Catfish. My afternoon clients were Charles and Dotty Corbett. Great husband and wife team that I have taken out several times. They caught 40+ Hybrids and White Bass. For details of today's catch, see my Pro Fishing Reports.
April 23, 2021. Put out at Hurricane
Creek Recreation Area Boat Ramp on both my trips today. Had Mara Nichole (The Sassy Angler) from Blinged Out Shoes and her sister Shonda from 6-12. They caught 25+ Hybrids and Whites and went home with a mess of filets. Then I picked up Paul Meier and his brother Bobby Meier visiting from his home in Texas for my next 6 hour trip. We moved to my New Hotspot, dropped the Livescope and started the Thumper. In no time we had fish moving under the boat and went to catching them non-stop on my Garmin Panoptix Livescope and Bink's Pro Series Spoons. Afternoon clients caught 50+ Hybrids and Whites. For details of my new hotspot and details of today's catch, see my Pro Fishing Reports and view the live video on TRDGS Live Pro Fishing Reports Facebook page.
April 22, 2021. Put out from Fate Sanders Marina at 8:00 AM. This father and son had booked a trip earlier in the month when the water was high and I recommended they reschedule to this week when I knew the fishing would be better. Returned to the same spot I fished Tuesday and spotted even larger schools of Hybrids and Whites on my Garmin Livescope. We started off vertical jigging Bink's Pro Series Spoons and caught our limit of Hybrids in 30 minutes. Once the wind picked up, we began trolling and started catching bigger Hybrids. Two of the Hybrids were pushing 7 pounds and 4 others were in the 4-5 pound rage. The son was so amazed at the number and size of the fish he caught, he asked if he could sign on as a guide for The Reel Deal Guide Service. Check my Pro Fishing Reports for the details of todays catch.
